Are Starfish Project products hypoallergenic?
All Starfish items are lead and cadmium free with nickel content less than 100 ppm. Many of our pieces are 14-18K gold ionic plated stainless steel.
Where do you deliver?
UK Starfish Ltd. currently delivers to the United Kingdom only. To shop outside of the UK, please go to our US website where we offer worldwide shipping at international shipping rates.
Does Starfish Project restock all of its pieces?
We restock pieces based on customer demand, material availability, and other factors. When you see a piece that is out of stock, there is a button that says “email me to be notified when back in stock" so please click that button and share your email address to ensure you will be updated when it is restocked. We also love to receive feedback on which products you would like to see more of, so please do email us at email@example.com.
Orders and Shipping
What forms of payment does Starfish Project accept?
We accept all types of credit card payments as well as Apple Pay, Shop Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal.
Do I have to pay sales tax on my Starfish Project order?
Wholesale customers can submit a reseller’s certificate to be exempt from sales tax!
The website won't let me check out.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org what device you’re using (laptop, desktop, cell phone) and what browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.). That will help our IT team figure out the issue. We have found that desktop works best with our website if you’re having trouble.
Can I modify my order/shipping address?
If your order needs to be changed please contact us at email@example.com as soon as possible. We will do our best to make the change before your order ships. Please include your order number and the items you would like to change. If the order has already shipped, it cannot be modified and you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return your Starfish Project jewellery.
Can I cancel my order?
If you want to cancel your order, please contact us ASAP at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will do our best to cancel it, but know that our shipping volunteers are very speedy, so your order may have already gone out! We will email you and let you know. If your order has already gone out, you can still return your jewellery within 30 days for a refund (but you will have to pay return shipping!).
How much does shipping and handling cost?
We ship via DPD and delivery times vary between 1-3 business days. The cost for shipping is a flat rate of £10 per order. We offer free shipping for orders over £300.
How do I use a coupon code?
After adding pieces to your shopping cart, click on “view cart,” then enter the coupon code in the box under “coupon.”
What if I didn't receive an email confirmation for my order?
If you did not receive an email confirmation, please email email@example.com with your first and last name and we will get back to you.
Can I change my shipping address on my order?
If you let us know promptly, we will do our best to change your shipping address in time. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for any such requests.
How will my Starfish Project purchase arrive?
Your purchase will arrive in our unique Starfish Project packaging with a hand signed sticker or card from the women who helped make it. Depending on how large the pieces are, your jewellery will be delivered either in one of three sized Starfish Project boxes. If you prefer not to receive our circle boxes, please leave a note during the check out process.
Can I order a Starfish Project gift card?
Yes! Please visit our main retail site to buy a Starfish Project gift card.
When will I receive my order?
All UK Starfish Ltd. orders are shipped via DPD with tracking numbers and typically arrive within 3-7 business days.
If your order has not arrived in the time frame listed above, let us know by emailing us with your name and order number at email@example.com. We will make sure you get your beautiful jewellery made by the women at Starfish Project.
Returns and Exchanges
What is Starfish Project's return policy?
You can return your items for a refund within 30 days of the original purchase date. Original shipping/handling fees are non-refundable and the return shipping/handling fees are the responsibility of and paid for by the consumer.
For a full refund, all returns require the following:

- Original Condition
- Order number
- Name of purchaser
- Date of purchase

Starfish Project Inc. warrants all our products to be free from defect in design, material and workmanship (under normal use) for one year from original purchase date. If a customer returns an item to your shop that is damaged (within the year), please contact us with a photo of the damage and we will replace or refund the item for you.
How do I return a Starfish Project item?

My jewelry is broken.
We guarantee our jewelry for one year from the date of purchase. If your jewellery, or your customer's jewellery has broken within a year of purchase please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will replace it. If the broken piece is out of stock, we will credit you a gift certificate for the same amount.
I received the wrong item or an item is missing from my order.

How many women does Starfish Project serve?
We have employed over 180 women and have served thousands through our Community Outreach Services.
What types of vocational training do the women receive while working at Starfish Project?
All the women who work for Starfish Project receive on-the-job training in jewellery production! Most women are promoted into other roles at Starfish Project, including photography, design, records maintenance, inventory management, and other management positions. Outside of their day jobs, every woman has the opportunity to take computer classes and receive certification in Microsoft Word and Excel. Some women pursue more classes in accounting, photography, graphic design and even banking! We want our employees to be ready for the job market when they leave, and our vocational training prepares them well for future careers.
When Starfish Project offers women a way out, why don't more women leave right away?
Many of the women we meet have been tricked into working in the brothels and it takes time for us to gain their trust. We have also found that, due to the emotional and physical abuse they have experienced, many of the women do not think it is possible to change their lives. They are often bound by a sense of shame and have resigned themselves to a life without hope.
How old are the women who come to Starfish Project?
Most of the women who have come to work at Starfish Project are 18-25, although we have some in their 30s and 40s. We have met girls in the brothels as young as 12 years old.
How long do women typically stay in the Starfish Project shelter?
Our standard program is two years. After two years, we offer a housing allowance to empower the women to live independently and take greater responsibility for their life. Starfish Project is committed to long-term, ongoing employment for every woman, so we offer continued employment after they move out of the shelter. Every woman’s situation can vary according to her needs, but that is our typical track.
Is Starfish Project a Fair Trade business?
Yes! We are members of the Fair Trade Federation.
Where do the profits of Starfish Project jewellery sales go?
All the revenue from jewellery sales goes back to our mission of restoring hope to trafficked women! We are a 501c3 and all funds help provide our holistic care programs and vocational programs.
Does the Starfish Project receive any funding from any other sources besides the profits from jewellery sales?
We have incredibly generous donors whose gifts allow us to rescue women from exploitative situations. Sales from our jewellery fund a large portion of our programs, but we rely on donors to make our full holistic care program possible. Starfish Project has been vetted and received generous support from the Kering Foundation, Geneva Global, The Sparrow Charitable Foundation, Ten Talents, First Fruits, World Vision and so many wonderful individual donors. You can join too! Your gift will directly impact the lives of trafficked women.
Why doesn't Starfish Project reveal where they are specifically located?
